ANNOUNCEMENT – 17th NOVEMBER – SUNDAY– 2024 – B
1. Assembly elections will he held in Maharashtra on Wednesday, 20th November. All parishioners above the age of 18 years are reminded to exercise their franchise and vote for secular parties and secular candidates.
2. The Feast of Christ the King is celebrated on Sunday, 24th Nov. Morning mass at 8am in English. Sunday school children will have Sunfunday in AV Hall from 8:15am onwards. Common Eucharistic Adoration from 9am to 10 am will be conducted by Bro. Prakash D’Souza in Konkani. Fr. John Mascarenhas SVD, Parish Priest of Sacred Heart Church, Mahakali will celebrate the Infant Jesus Devotion mass in Konkani at 10am. No evening mass.
3. Bishop Emeritus Allwyn Barretto, Bishop of Sindhudurg diocese had a fall last week and has undergone a surgery. He is unable to come to Jogeshwari. We pray for his speedy recovery.
4. Parents are requested to make sure that Sunday school children attend the Infant Jesus Devotion mass. It is observed that some parents take their children home after Sunfunday.
5. This year we plan to distribute 2500 bedsheets among the poor at major government hospitals through the social workers. The cost of each handloom bedsheet is Rs 100. Parishioners are invited to reach out as part of our Advent/Christmas Campaign to help the poor and needy. Cheques should be drawn in the name of INFANT JESUS CHURCH. Cash could be dropped in the box placed on the altar. Last date to donate is 12th Dec. Kindly be generous.
6. Parishioners are invited to join the MINISTRY OF THE WORD programme at the Goregaon Seminary. It is a 2year course with classes on Sundays in English. Parishioners are invited to make an effort to Study the Word of God and enlighten yourself. For details kindly see the notice board.
7. English speaking and handwriting classes for adults and school going secondary students is being conducted by an effective and efficient professional at Prem Nagar Chapel run by the sisters of our parish. For details kindly see the notice board.
8. Apologetic session for Parents of First Holy Communion and Confirmation Students on Saturday, 30th Nov at 7:30pm in the AV Hall. It is compulsory for both parents to attend.
9. Advent Social Exposure programme for Sunday School children from 3rd standard to 9th standard on Sunday, 1st December at Shraddha Vihar run by Helpers of Mary sisters, Andheri west. The children will leave immediately after the children’s mass. Children to carry dry home-made snacks and a bottle of water.
10. On the 8th of December, Sunday school children to submit the piggy banks to their respective Sunday school teachers after counting the money at home.
