NOTICES FOR THE WEEK

  1. Holy Eucharist: Kindly continue to join in the Holy Eucharist in your homes celebrated by our archbishop Monday to Saturday 7.30 am and Sunday at 9 am. Also tune in to special sessions/ talks on various topics conducted online by various archdiocesan bodies.
  2. Church office remains closed till further notice.
  3. We begin the nine day novenas in preparation for the feast of the Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary from Sunday 30th August 2020. The Sunday school children along with the catechists will be conducting the novena service online. The link will be given to your PPC/ SCC coordinator and they will circulate it in the community whatsapp group. Dear parents and parishioners, we want as many children to join in the novena service and do the activity. For details of the novena service, please refer the note below.
  4. On the days of the novena and the feast day, we request you to join in the online masses happening at the shrines or the basilica or certain other churches where masses are projected live. We will provide a few links which you may follow.  
  5. This year we have informed all the SCC’s not to make any special collection for food grains as we normally do. In case you would like to make a personal donation you may do so by cheque drawn in favour of Infant Jesus Church. Also this year we are not accepting sarees in offering for Mother Mary.  
  6. Those desiring to get married in the coming months have to do their marriage preparation course online. Please visit the Snehalaya Family Centre website for details. After completing the course, please get in touch with us by sending an email on the parish id ijparish74@gmail.com. Please do not come to the church for clarifications or bookings.
  7. Baptism of infants: Kindly get in touch with us by sending an email on the parish id ijparish74@gmail.com. Please do not come to the church for clarifications or bookings.
  8. Baptism of Adults: Those adults who desire to receive the sacrament of baptism and confirmation next year are requested to contact us as soon as possible. parish id ijparish74@gmail.com.
  9. Mass Intentions: We are accepting mass intentions till 31st December 2020. These may be sent online on ijparish74@gmail.com or to your PPC member/ SCC coordinator. Kindly mention the date and the intention clearly as well as your name and Community number. Please do not come to the church to offer masses.
  10. Community Welfare Fund/ Donations: Community Welfare Fund contribution as well as donations can be made through cheques only. Please hand over the CWF envelope containing the cheque/ donation cheque to your respective PPC/ SCC coordinator who will do the needful. Kindly mention clearly the period of payment (i.e. the month/ months and the year/years for which this contribution is to be marked).
  11. Dear parishioners, we invite you to continue to be constant in your faith life by actively participating in the online faith formation activities. Do continue to read the Word of God, conduct family prayer and recite the rosary daily. May Infant Jesus our patron protect and guard each and every family in our parish from the dreaded disease.
  12. Since the festival season is on the threat of infection has increased due to movement of people. So continue to take proper precautions. Best precaution is Be home, Be safe and practice SMS. God bless!

Community no. 10                        Sunday 23rd at 8 pm

ON LINE NOVENA SERVICE

Kindly note: Novena service will be online on Google meet like our SCC meetings. Kindly follow the following steps at home.  

  1. Prepare the home altar or a small table with a cloth on it with the image of Mother Mary (an imaz or photo frame or a Holy picture) and candles around it, whichever is convenient (like we do when we take the imaz of Our Lady from house to house). Also keep a Bible close to you.  
  2. At 7.30 p.m. gather in front of the altar or image and be seated. You may light candles on the altar or on the table you have prepared and enter the online service.
  3. At 7.35 p.m. play on your mobile or laptop a hymn to our Lady so that you may get in the right disposition for the prayer. We will give you a link to a hymn to Our Lady
  4. At 7.40 p.m. litany will be recited online by the catechist. At this time, please put on mute both the microphone and camera (and keep it that way till you are instructed to put in on) and make the responses at home.
  5. After the litany, a hymn will be sung, the words will be projected on the screen.
  6. This will be followed by scripture reading. You may follow the words in the Bible.
  7. One of the priests will then give a homily on the theme of the day.
  8. After this we will have the Prayers of the faithful
  9. This will be followed by the recitation of the Our Father.
  10. The novena prayer in English will be recited.
  11. This will be followed by a few other instructions.
  12. After the instructions follows the blessing by the priest.
  13. After this a short catechesis for children on the activity for the nine days will be done.
  14. We conclude the service with the singing of the hymn.
