3rd SUNDAY IN ADVENT TIME – YEAR A

NOTICES FOR THE WEEK

  1. Mass for the sick and homebound will be celebrated tomm/today at 11am. Family members/area coordinators kindly arrange to get the homebound for mass.
  2. IJYM youth will distribute bedsheets on Wednesday, 14th December to the poor patients living on the footpaths outside TATA Hospital, Children’s Wadia Hospital and poor patients of Trauma Hospital to help them cope with extreme cold/winter setting in. Those who would like to sponsor bedsheets for the poor are requested to hand it over to the church office and donations for the same will be accepted. We plan to distribute 1000 bedsheets. Cost of one bed sheet is Rs 85.
  3. Christmas Confessions in English, Hindi, Marathi and Konkani will be heard on Thursday, 15th and Friday 16th December from 6pm to 8pm. Guest priests will be available. Kindly prepare well and make a good confession.
  4. Christmas Hampers worth Rs 1000 for SVP Adopted families will be distributed on 15th Dec. Donations are accepted.
  5. IJYM is organizing an Advent Taize Prayer Service for parishioners on Friday, 16th Dec from 8pm to 8:30pm. All are invited.
  6. Community wise Carol singing will take place in the Church hall on Saturday, 17th Dec after the evening mass. All communities will sing Christmas carols to welcome the birth of Jesus in our lives. Kindly come dressed in Christmas attire and take part in Christmas carols. Grand Christmas Housie will be conducted and two full houses worth Rs 3000 will be given. All are invited.
  7. Next Sunday Christmas party for Sunday school is organized after the children’s mass. Children are requested to come dressed in Christmas attire. Fancy dress for children of pre-primary to 4th std. All children to come at 7:50 am next Sunday for registration for Christmas party.
  8. Eucharistic Devotion to Infant Jesus will be celebrated next Sunday 18th Dec. Eucharistic Adoration at 11a.m and Mass at 11:30a.m. We will pray for blessings on married couples, couples without kids, peace in families and young adults looking for life partners. Kindly participate in large numbers. Kindly note the 9:30am mass will not be celebrated. No 9:30am mass next Sunday.
  9. The Community Crib and Star will be judged during the Christmas week. The theme is “Jesus the Prince of Peace”. PPC/SCC Coordinators along with youth and kids will execute it.
  10. Contribution towards Advent campaign against Hunger and Disease by Centre for Social Action is to be dropped in the box placed in front of the altar. Envelopes for the same are placed on the box.
  11. Junior K.G. admission form for non-Christians for the academic year 23-24 will be distributed from 12th Dec to 17th December from 8.30a.m to 12 noon. For details kindly see the pre primary school notice board.
  12. Carol singing organized by ppc/scc coordinators, youth and kids in the communities from 19th to 23rd dec and visiting homes especially of the sick and homebound.

  14. Last Sunday’s collection amounted to Rs 29, 000 /- which is for the Archdiocese. Thank you for your generosity.
